Overview
GPXEV and GPXVL can be used within the free tier ($200/month) of Google Cloud Platform. If the total cost used by all users exceeds the free tier, this tool will not be available until the following month.
This month's usage limits
At this time, there are no usage limits.
Detail
If there is a high possibility that the usage fee for this month will exceed the free tier, we will limit the functions that can be used in the following order.
- Stops the along the road mode.
- Stops the elevation data acquisition function.
- Stops the place search function.
- Stops the GPXEV service. You will not be able to edit the root (GPX file).
- Stops the GPXVL (Lite version) service. You will not be able to view the root (GPX file).
Users who have set their Google API Key in the Configuration dialog are not subject to the above restrictions.
If GPXEV is not available, the following screen will be displayed.
Free tier
The number of requests that can be used within the free tier ($200/month) of Google Cloud Platform is as follows. This value is a rough guide.
- View route : Approximately 23,000 times ($0.007/request)
- Along the road mode : Approximately 7,000 times ($0.005/request)
- Elevation data acquisition : Approximately 600 times ($0.005/request)
23,000×$0.007+7,000×$0.005+600×$0.005=$199<$200
- The above values are an estimate of the total number of requests for all users.
- Displaying routes consumes one request each time you start or reload GPXEV or GPXVL. In other words, there is no additional cost unless you reload the GPXEV screen once launched on the browser.
- In "along the road" mode, each click on the map consumes two requests.
- The elevation data acquisition function consumes 1 request for every 512 waypoints.
Others
- Users who access a lot in a short period of time may restrict their use.
