GPX file

Q1 : Which GPX tags are supported?

A1 : GPXEV(GPX Editor and viewer) supports all GPX 1.1 tags.

Q2 : Is there an upper limit on file size?

A2 : No, there is no limit. However, data exceeding the memory capacity cannot be edited.

Q3 : Does GPXEV support KML?

A3 : No, GPXEV supports only GPX 1.1. Please convert KML file to GPX file with other tools.

Q4 : Can I publish the root (GPX file) I created on the net?

A4 : Yes. However, it is necessary for the user to prepare a server for saving the GPX file. It is also possible to use a rental server that can be used free of charge.

Q5 : Unable to read GPX file using HTTPS.

A5 : To load GPX files from the Internet, the server must allow CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing). See the linked page for more information. [Link]

Privacy and cookie policy

Q6 : Does GPXEV collect my route data?

A6 : No, GPXEV does not collect your route data. GPXEV does not send route data to the server. However, if you use the following functions, it will send the latitude, longitude or search string to the Google server.

Q7 : Does GPXEV use cookies?

A7 : Yes. However, GPXEV uses cookies to store settings and is not intended to collect personal information. Also, GPXEV does not use any information to identify the user. You can see the contents of the cookie in the Configuration dialog.

Usage environment

Q8 : Is there a recommended browser?

A8 : Google Chrome or Firefox is recommended. Safari has not been confirmed to work. It will not work with browsers that do not support Internet Explorer, Opera and ECMAScript 2015 (ES6).

A9 : GPXEV uses the Japanese rental server "Sakura Internet". The server may be down for several hours due to maintenance aimed at updating the OS once every few years.
