Riding Gear
This page introduces my motorcycle gears, helmets, gloves, rider jackets, tank backs, seat backs, etc.
1. Helmet
I am using the helmet "PROFILE" made by ARAI.
This is a Full Face Motorcycle Helmets. If you ride a motorcycle in Japan, you must wear a helmet.
This helmet can remove the inner pad. When purchasing a helmet, you can choose a pad size that fits your head size. Also, if a helmet part breaks, you can replace it.
This is the first AGV helmet I used. Ignored the service life and used it for 10 years, so various parts are damaged.
The bottom of the helmet is fragile. Since the edge part is made of plastic, it will crack continuously once cracked. I tried to repair it many times, but it couldn't be repaired completely.
2. Motorcycle Jackets
Three season textile motorcycle jackets
Next is the Riders jacket. This is a textile motorcycle jackets for three season made by CORIN Motors. I wear this jacket except in midsummer. There are three protectors on the elbows, shoulders and back.
This jacket has a removable inner. There is a zipper inside the jacket, and I can remove the inner. The picture on the left shows the fastener removed. From October to March I wear it with an inner. From April to July and September, I wear it with the inner part removed. The price is a bit high, but it's worth it.
Mesh motorcycle jackets for summer
This is a mesh motorcycle jackets for summer. The protector is only on the inside of the elbow. It is light in weight and can be worn without problems even in the hot summer of Japan. The price was 8000 yen.
This is the summer jacket I used before. The good thing about this is that it has fasteners on the chest, arms and belly. When it was hot, I was able to open the zipper to improve ventilation. I wore it for many years, so the fabric on the sleeves broke.
Motorcycle raincoat
Raincoats for riders are highly waterproof. Still, the cheaper products get wet inside. The raincoat in the image on the left will seep into the rainwater after half a day's wear.
This is a motorcycle raincoat made by "Motorhead Rider". This product has high water resistance and won't get wet even if worn for a long time. The size is also quite compact.
The image on the left is a waterproof glove. The material is a little hard, so it's hard to grip the motorcycle lever.
3. Riders Pants
I ride a motorcycle in standard jeans. I wear winter riders pants in the cold winter. The picture on the left is winter riders pants made by GOLDWIN. Even in mid-November, Japan gets quite cold in the morning and evening. From December onwards, it is quite cold when you wear standard jeans.
4. Shoes
I don't wear shoes for riders. However, I wear shoes without laces so that the laces do not get caught on the pedals.
5. Glove
I use gloves made by GOLDWIN. The image on the left is a breathable, three-season glove. Since gloves are consumable items, I buy relatively cheap products.
On the left is the 980 yen winter gloves I bought at a local store. Since it is not a glove for riders, it does not have anti-slip.
The image on the right is a glove for innerwear. It is a type of gloves that can be layered.
6. Tank bag
I don't use big tank bag. Instead, we're using a small tank bag that fits the map. It is much thinner and smaller than a general tank bag.
The image on the left is an image with the tank back open. Roads are densely packed in Japan, so a map is essential.
7. Motorcycle Rear Seat Bag
When I go on a trip, I use different types of bags depending on the number of nights I stay. I usually use a standard luggage travel backpack. This is not a product for motorcycle. These products are cheap and rich in variety.
I use large seatbacks when camping. The picture on the left is the Goldwin seat back "Touring Rear Bag 75". This product has a maximum capacity of up to 75 liters when the left, right and top fasteners are opened.
The image on the left is a photograph of a large seatback mounted on the ZZR400. It will be a little unstable, but you can drive without problems.
I am using Goldwin seat back GSM17402. This product makes it easy to take out the luggage inside. It is useful for storing outerwear and rainwear that are frequently taken in and out.
The image on the left is the rear carrier for the ZZR400 by "Riding Spot". The load capacity of this carrier is 3 kg. This carrier is tedious to install and is rarely removed.
8. Motorcycle Cargo Luggage Net
It is motorcycle cargo luggage net. If you have a small amount of luggage to load, this net will be sufficient to secure it.
9. Motorcycle Cover
I use a standard motorcycle protection cover. The motorcycle cover is a consumable item, so I buy a cheap one.
10. Motorcycle Lock Chain
I use a chain-type security lock. I don't bring a security lock when I travel. The Ninja400R can store a U-shaped security lock under the seat.
